Paris explore free wireless internet

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – The City of Paris is looking into the possibility of offering free wireless internet access throughout the city. The question is on a survey passed out to those who live, work, and spend time in Paris. The plan would allow most people with wireless internet capability to access the internet for free throughout Paris.

Cities like Austin, Philadelphia, New Orleans and San Francisco are examples of cities that have begun to build such a service.

Paris City Manager Tony Williams said he is just trying to get a feel for how the public feels about this issue at this point. No cost estimates or major research has yet been done into the proposal, but if interest is high, Williams plans to explore the issue more thoroughly.
