Paris man gets 38 years for hate crime

By Scott Harvey

Paris – A Paris resident and admitted member of the Aryan Circle white supremacist prison gang has received a 38 year prison sentence.

32-year-old Jeffery Lee Rogers was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery. Rogers reportedly held a knife to a black man's throat to rob him because of his race.

The case was prosecuted as a hate crime and Rogers must serve half of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
