Paris Police Chief search down to two

Paris – The Paris News is reporting the search for the city's new police chief has been narrowed to two people - Interim Chief Bob Hundley and Lamar County Sheriff's Investigator Ted Gibson.

Hundley has served the department 34 years and is a graduate of Paris High School. He was named interim chief early this year upon the retirement of former Chief Karl Louis.

Also a Paris High School graduate, Gibson began his law enforcement career with the Paris Police Department in 1971. He moved throughout the region serving in several capacities until 2000, when he returned to Paris to serve the Lamar County Sheriff's Department.

City Manager Kevin Carruth said he expects the final interviews to take place next week followed by a recommendation to Paris City Council shortly thereafter.
