Paris Police make major arrest over the weekend

By Scott Harvey

Paris – Two men are in custody at the Lamar County Jail following their alleged involvement in a Paris burglary resulting in over $100,000 in loses.

Police say that 44-year-old Billy Steven Nowden, of Michigan, and 48-year-old Charles Cleveland Nowden, of Cedar Hill, Texas, have been charged with theft.

The offense reportedly occurred just before midnight on Sunday at Paris Farm and Ranch. An initial investigation found several zero turn radius mowers were missing, but later found in the trailer across the street being operated by one of the suspects.

Just last week Lamar County Crime Stoppers asked for help in solving a burglary that occurred at Paris Farm and Ranch in June, but there is no reason to believe at this time that the two crimes are related. The investigation is ongoing.
