Paris police warn agains letter scam

By Scott Harvey

Paris – The Paris Police Department would like to make the public aware of a scam letter that has been received by at least one Paris resident.

The Paris Police Department received word from a concerned citizen about a scam letter sent to her from a company called UBI Payment Services. The letter reportedly asks persons to solve a puzzle or quiz, and once the form is signed and sent back in, you are entered into a contest to win a large sum of money. The catch is, whoever responds must send in a copy of some sort of identification.

Persons are urged not to respond and send in any identification. The resident that made the police aware of this did not respond, but wished to report it in case others got the letter as well.

Residents are reminded that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
