Paris shooting suspect released from hospital, arrested

By Scott Harvey

Paris – A Paris man, shot by a police officer following an altercation last month, is released from the hospital.

20-year-old Robert Shawn Lindsey was taken into custody at the Lamar County Jail without incident following his release Tuesday afternoon from Paris Regional Medical Center.

Lindsey was charged with aggravated assault on a public servant following the shooting that occurred at Tangelwood Apartments on May 11th. Lindsey was shot twice after he reportedly fired two shots into the ground before aiming his weapon at a Paris Police officer. The officer, whose name hasn't been released, was uninjured.

The shooting stemmed from Lindsey's threatening of a person with a gun outside the apartment complex, supposedly a significant other.
