Paris' Turner plant and EEOC reach settlement

By Scott Harvey

Paris – A settlement has been reached between Turner Industries and the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission.

Earlier this year, eight Turner employees claimed their civil rights were violated while at the Paris plant.

In late March, the EEOC cited the company for civil rights violations and ordered a formal dispute resolution process.

The settlement, terms of which remain confidential, came just days before an EEOC hearing scheduled this week. The settlement will now prevent the hearing from taking place.

Turner, which manufactures oil pipeline products, employs roughly 700 people.
