Pottsboro vs Commerce

Commerce fans who intend to make the Friday drive to Pottsboro for this week's Tigers football game should probably carpool. That's the message Pottsboro Superintendent Dr. Kevin Matthews communicated to Commerce ISD late last week:

"I wanted to touch base with you about our upcoming game on October 18th in Pottsboro. Our parking situation is horrible for our fans and visitors. To add to the lack of parking, our local police department has decided for the first time in about five years to enforce no vehicles parking along the street, Cardinal Lane, which runs North and South on the West side of the football stadium. Cardinal Lane intersects Highway 120 at the one stop light in Pottsboro. Please let your fans know because the police department says they will be issuing $30 tickets on Friday, October 18th. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause."

The Tigers are 1-5 coming off of a 31-21 loss to Sunnyvale last week. Senior QB Sam Wells missed the game due to injury, causing Commerce to shift to a run-based offense mid-week.
