Two Northeast Texas roadways remain flooded by high waters from last week’s rains.
A stretch of State Highway 24 just west of Cooper has been closed since Friday. High waters along John’s Creek have flooded a part of the highway that has been under construction. Texas Dept. of Transportation crews are detouring south-bound S.H. 24 traffic via Farm to Market Road 64 and Farm to Market Road 904. The detour for north-bound traffic follows Farm to Market Road 1528 to F.M. 64 back to S.H. 24.
East of Commerce, Farm to Market Road 71 has been re-opened. The road had been flooded in the vicinity of the South Sulphur River.
