Pay your fines or face arrest

Several Northeast Texas entities will be among the participants in this weekend’s Great Texas Warrant Roundup.

The sixth annual event is set for Saturday. More than 250 agencies will take part, making arrests of those with unpaid traffic tickets or misdemeanor warrants.

In most cases, citizens have until the end of the day today to pay those fines and avoid jail time. For example, the City of Greenville offers an amnesty period prior to the Warrant Roundup Deadline, and names of offenders are printed in the local newspaper if the payment isn’t received by a certain date.

Those with outstanding warrants will be picked up at home, while they’re out shopping, walking, at work or wherever they are located.
