Arrest made in Pecan Gap burglary case

Following a month long investigation by Delta County Investigator Ryan Brown and Deputy Rocky Villarreal, several stolen items from a burglary near Pecan Gap were recovered at a metal recycling facility in Commerce. Items reported stolen included antique vehicles, compressor, fuel tanks, radiator and car batteries.Law enforcement officials said that Joseph Leon Wilson of Cooper sold the radiator to the recycling facility. On Sept. 24, Fannin County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Wilson, where he had other offenses. He is in the Delta County Jail being held without bond.

Sheriff Ricky Smith said, “The Sheriff’s Office continues to focus on the crimes of theft that occur in Delta County and those involved in these type crimes will be held accountable.”
