Pest Problems in Campbell

By Kevin Jefferies

Campbell – And you thought you had pest problems. A 7 foot alligator was caught in a shed behind a Campbell lumber yard Wednesday. The Greenville Herald banner reports the gator was found at DW Distribution, a lumber yard at I30 and Highway 50 near Hartline Golf Center.

Employees spotted the alligator Wednesday morning, and after they stopped running, the game warden was called. Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens Craig Hernandez and Jason Bussy arrived and caught the gator and hauled it off. Hernandez said it was the first alligator he's had to deal with in five years, but another was spotted recently in Wood County. They usually do not approach public areas.

Maybe some good came form the alligator on the premises of the lumber yard. The place had been having a stray cat problem that mysteriously cleared up recently.
