Greenville – The committee that circulated the petition, consisting of two former city council members and two former mayors, turned in the document Wednesday.
According to committee member Jerry J. Ransom, they collected approximately 500 signatures.
If approved, voters will have the option of choosing for or against a measure to cancel the contract of City Attorney Brent A. Money. The petition was circulated in response to Money's alleged involvement in the dispute between the City and L-3 Communications Mission Integration.
The City Council would have to vote by March 14 to add the item to the May ballot.
