Petitions seeking alcohol sales in Greenville have been submitted

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Petitions seeking alcohol sales in Greenville have been submitted. Hunt County Elections Administrator Mina Cook says as soon as the petitions are proved valid; they'll be taken to the Commissioners Court. The election, should it be scheduled in November, would be to decide two issues. The first would allow the sale of beer and wine at off-premise locations such as grocery stores. The second would do away with the current requirement for individuals of legal age to become a member of a private club at an establishment before being able to purchase alcoholic beverages.
