Photo gallery: Hundreds attend powwow

Texas A&M University-Commerce hosted a Benefit Powwow on Nov. 8 at the Sam Rayburn Student Center.

Vendors, dancers and drummers highlighted the activities. Event organizer Terryl Bratek said that between 300-400 people attended the day-long powwow, which lasted from midday until Saturday night.

The Greenville Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and the music group Renegade Nation honored veterans with a special ceremony.

"Almost every powwow has a veterans' ceremony, and it’s not just because they are around Veterans Day,” Bratek said.
