Photos: Winds batter NE Texas

Severe thunderstorms blew through Northeast Texas on Oct. 2, leaving multiple reports of damage in their wake.

The highest wind gust recorded at Majors Field, the City of Greenville Municipal Airport, during the storm was 63 mph. Majors Field recorded about an inch of rain during the storms.

The Greenville Herald-Banner reports that part of the roof of the Stonebridge Villa Apartments in Greenville was blown into the yard, and the Greenville Middle School Annex Building also suffered roof damage.

The Greenville Herald-Banner also reports that one person was slightly hurt when they were struck by a downed power line at the intersection of Stonewall and Jones Streets in Greenville. There were no reports of serious injuries as a result of the storms.
