PJC again among top 50 fastest-growing colleges

PARIS - A recent report by Community College Week ranks Paris Junior College 25th in the nation for rate of growth among two-year colleges for 2011.

PJC experienced an 11 percent growth rate from fall 2009-2010. The study collected data from more than 7,000 schools. PJC’s ranking was among schools with between 5,000 and 9,999 students.

Nationally, enrollment has fallen from an average of eight percent growth to three percent, largely due to the economy recovering slightly and funding cuts to higher education.  While Texas community college enrollment grew six percent this year, the growth was mostly in large urban area schools.
