Plant closings may be good news for Paris

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – Widespread closings for the maker of Kleenex and Huggies diapers may mean good news for a Paris factory. Kimberly-Clark, the make of tissues, diapers, and many other personal care products, announced earlier this month a plan to close up to 20 plants and cut around 6,000 jobs within the next three-and-a-half years. A Kimberly-Clark spokesman said the closing will allow for expansion at other locations, and that could mean good news for the Paris plant, which is considered one of the corporation's most valuable operations.

The names of 15 facilities scheduled for closure should be released within the next six months.
