Playoff basketball tonight!

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – The Lone Star Conference basketball tournament begins tonight for both the men's and women's teams at A&M-Commerce. Both teams will be matching up against Tarleton State. The men hit the road, while the women are at home in Commerce hosting first round action.

The men's team is the #4 seed out of the LSC North and face #1 seed from the South, Tarleton. A&M-Commerce defeated the Texans at home in the regular season, and knocked Tarleton out of a national ranking at the time. Last season, it was Tarleton handing the Lions their only loss at home all year, and knocking A&M-Commerce out of the playoffs. The men's game can be heard live right here on Public Radio 88.9 beginning with the pre-game at 7:45.

The women will be hosting their first ever Lone Star Conference Tournament game starting at 7pm tonight in the A&M-Commerce Field House. The ladies are the #2 seed out of the LSC North and face #3 Tarleton out of the South. The women have posted an impressive record this season, securing the most wins overall and most wins at home in team history. The first 225 A&M-Commerce students to show for the game will get in free. Doors open at 5:30 for a 7pm tip-off. That game can be heard live over the internet, at www.kkomradiotexas.com.
