Plea bargain reached in drug possession case


Greenville – An apparent illegal alien from Dallas finds himself in a catch-22 situation stemming from a drug charge out of Hunt County.

Rodolfo Olives Hernandez received 10 years in prison after filing a request to plead guilty to his marijuana possession charge.

Hernandez said he was told Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would not deport him until after the his case was through, but that the Hunt County District Attorney's office was waiting on ICE to take custody.

Hernandez was one of two people arrested following a traffic stop along Interstate 30 in July.
