Plea heard in Commerce sexual assault

By Brad Kellar

Commerce – A not guilty plea has been entered in connection with two reported sexual assaults and a residential burglary in Commerce.

Damien DeShuan Brown had received an indictment for each of the charges. Brown entered the not guilty pleas Thursday. An attorney was appointed to represent him and an interim hearing set for May 4.

Reports show a female Commerce resident alleged Brown sexually assaulted her in her apartment on January 13. He then reportedly broke into her apartment again on January 15 and sexually assaulted her while threatening her with a box cutter.
