Hunt County – A possible change of venue may be ordered in a case concerning the construction of the Hunt County Criminal Justice Center.
Defense attorneys for Frank W. Neal & Associates Incorporated, the engineers in the project, are seeking the venue change due to extensive media coverage. Attorneys representing Hunt County have denied the claims.
A hearing is set for Friday to hear arguments from both sides.
In May, Hunt County Commissioners Court agreed to a $770,000 settlement with Burns Architecture Incorporated, the architects of the jail.
Hunt County formally filed suit against the two Fort Worth firms in January, accusing the engineers and architects of failing to adhere to warnings the structure was being built on unstable soil.
