Possibly a new city manager for Paris next week

By Kevin Jefferies

Paris, Texas – The City of Paris could name a new City Manager as early as next week. Three finalists have been named for the position after a search that began in April. Freeport City Manager Ron Bottoms, former Brownwood City Manager Kevin Carruth, and Tony Williams have been named as finalists. Williams was fired by the council as Paris City Manager in January.

Final interviews are expected to be done by next Wednesday, and the council is expected to offer the job to one of the finalists at that time.

From the firing of Williams to the search for candidates, the entire process has seen some controversy. Williams was narrowly removed by a 4-3 council vote, and a number of Paris citizens showed support for Williams. Some council members have also been displeased with results from the search firm that was hired to find a new city manager.
