President proposes three strategies for A&M-Commerce

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – During a recent address to Texas A&M University-Commerce Faculty and Staff, President Dan Jones proposed three strategies to be implemented.

Yesterday KETR outlined Dr. Jones' second strategy, to create a Budget Review Management Committee. The third proposed strategy is to focus on service, to students, and to one another.

'All of us are frustrated when we don't get the service we feel we deserve, and most of us have become experts at complaining until things get worked out. Usually, we lose a little time in the process but end up getting what we want. says Jones.

'When it comes to students, thought, the consequences of poor service can be dire. When students don't get the help they need, all too often they simply go away - and don't come back.

According to Jones, service is an extension of the mission of A&M-Commerce and it is an essential component of their goal of attracting, retaining, and graduating deserving students.

Jones says he is currently working with the vice presidents, deans, and directors to establish a Service Excellence Task Force to identify areas of opportunity and to develop strategies for improving service delivery throughout the university.

KETR will continue to bring you more on Dr. Jones recent address to A&M-Commerce faculty and staff Friday.
