– Steps are being made in the search for Texas A&M University-Commerce's next President. Chair of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee David Crenshaw spoke of those steps at last Thursday's Spring Faculty Meeting.

They're currently working to give final approval on an evaluation rubric for applicants. Later this month the committee plans to narrow their search down to 12-15 applicants, then to 6-8 by mid-February with interviews to be held in March. On April 10 the committee will arrive at a final listing of three or fewer candidates who will be recommended to the chancellor. Based on the chancellor's findings, a recommendation will be made to the A&M System Board of Regents at their April meeting. Crenshaw says if all goes well, they should know the name of the new president by May.
