Commerce – The new Alumni Center at Texas A&M University-Commerce is just one of several facilitative projects currently underway on campus. Work on the $1.3 million facility began in January. Currently crews are finishing the buildings framing and close to beginning construction on the roof. The new 6,500 sq. foot building will be nearly four times the size of Alumni Relation's current facilities.

Alumni Relations Director Derryle Peace says the new building will help provide a visual presence that their current facilities cannot. He believes the new building will help improve and create relationships throughout the community, saying the building's extra space will provide more opportunities for ceremonies and events. The new Alumni Center will be located just west of the Heritage House and east of the Art Building. Completion is expected within the next 90 days.
