Property annexation plans for Greenville business put on hold

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A plan to annex property for an expanded Greenville business has been put on hold. The Greenville City Council Tuesday elected to postpone final public hearings and votes on a proposed annexation and rezoning of 77 acres west of Greenville. The annexation and change in zoning would have allowed the local Newell Rubbermaid plant to expand its operations. However, the developer behind the effort had asked for the votes to be pulled from the agenda, as the company was not yet ready to proceed.
