Prosecution responds in Woodruff murder case
Hunt County – Prosecutors are in a battle of words with defense attorneys regarding a Hunt County capital murder case. The Hunt County District Attorney's Office says it does not intend to provide the information sought by defense attorneys for accused capital murderer Brandon Dale Woodruff, claiming the information is privileged. A motion filed by Assistant District Attorney Noble Walker also declares many of the allegations raised in the earlier motions filed by chief defense counsel Jerry Spencer Davis that the office engaged in misconduct were erroneous.
Woodruff, 21, has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the jail in lieu of $1 million bond on one count of capital murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, Dennis and Norma Woodruff, who were slain inside their home near Royse City. The couple's bodies were discovered Oct. 18, 2005.
