Public meeting announced for proposed raw sewage dump

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – A public hearing is planned on a proposed sewage dump between Lone Oak and Campbell. State Representative Dan Flynn requested the hearing from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality last week, according to the Greenville Herald Banner. The controversial plan involves the dumping of raw sewage on about 45 acres just off County Road 3209. The Hunt County Commissioner's Court passed a resolution against the plan last month, but the authority to approve such a measure lies solely with state authorities.

No official date for the public hearing has been set. The TCEQ will accept comment on the proposal until May 6th.
