Cooper – Three people were arrested in a weekend raid in Cooper. Stolen checks, drugs, and more than $1,700 in cash were also recovered. Delta County Sheriff Mark Bassham, several deputies, and a Texas Ranger executed a search warrant last Friday in the 400 block of West Dallas Street after reports of forged checks being passed in the area. Tara Myers and her mother Brenda and James Christian Walker were all taken into custody at the residence. Stolen checks suspected stolen from a deceased woman's residence were recovered, as well as pipes with traces of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Child Protective Services was called out to take custody of two small children also at the residence.
