Record numbers set in first day of early voting

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Early voting for the November 2 General Election got off to a fast start in Hunt County.

A total of 639 ballots were cast both in person and by mail, passing previous marks set during the first day of early voting for this year's Primary Election and the 2006 General Election.

However, Monday's total was far short of the 1,514 ballots cast in Hunt County on the first day of early voting for the 2008 Presidential Election.

Early voting continues through Oct. 29 at the Hunt County Voter Administration Building in Greenville. Mobile early voting is also scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Commerce.
