Registered to vote? Deadline April 9

By Scott Harvey

If you have yet to register for the May 9 municipal and school elections, you have only a handful of days left to do so.

Next Thursday, April 9 is the deadline to register for the elections.

Some cities have however cancelled their elections, and unopposed candidates declared winners.

The Greenville, Paris and Bonham School Boards have already declared their next terms board of trustees. Candidates for the Sulphur Springs School Board are unopposed, but a bond item will still need to be decided. The North Lamar ISD will decide a bond item. Bond elections are also scheduled for the cities of Paris and Reno as well.

Both the Commerce School Board and City Council races have at least two candidates vying for each position. There is only one race taking place for the Greenville City Council.

Early voting runs April 27 through May 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with voting open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 29-30.
