Report shows local economy is still fairly strong

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – People are still shopping in Greenville according to the latest economic data. A report issued Wednesday by the Texas Comptroller's office indicates the local economy is still showing signs of strength. The City of Greenville will receive a June sales tax payment of over $400,000, representing a decrease of less than one percent from what the city collected during June 2007, which set the record for the month.
