Reports: Gadhafi Asks Followers To Fight On
As word comes that leaders of the opposition that has taken control of much of Libya have extended the deadline by which they want fighters loyal to Moammar Gadhafi to surrender, the ousted leader has been heard urging his supporters to fight on, Al-Arabiya and other news outlets are reporting.
Gadhafi's whereabouts aren't known. Nor is just when the recorded message was recorded.
As for the surrender deadline, al-Jazeera reports that:
"Libya's ruling National Transitional Council (NTC) has given one extra week to Muammar Gaddafi loyalists to lay down weapons.
"The body has extended the deadline for surrender of Gaddafi's last bastion Sirte by one week, Mohammad Zawawi, an NTC spokesman, said on Thursday.
" 'We are not in a rush to get in to Sirte. It has no economic importance and we're not going to lose casualties for it. We can cut supplies and wait, even more than a week,' he said."
