Residents head to Austin to oppose septic dump

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – More than 50 area residents head to Austin Wednesday for a hearing covering a controversial septic dump in Lone Oak. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality approved permits for the dump site earlier this month, but the issue will be reviewed by the TCEQ's governing body today, and they have the option to reconsider and deny the permit. The TCEQ's director has indicated he plans to recommend the permit be temporarily rescinded due to a grammatical error.

The meeting will be broadcast live at 1pm today on the TCEQ's website, and also on the Greenville Herald Banner website, www.heraldbanner.com.
