Reverend Horton Heat shows no signs of cooling down

For almost 30 years, Jim Heath has been creating unique rockabilly sounds under the moniker of Reverend Horton Heat. Fromhis  humble beginnings in Dallas' Deep Ellum district, to song placement in video games and thousands of live performances,  "The Rev" has carved his stage name into the pillars of Texas music and beyond.

Album cover for the latest album "Rev," by Max Grundy.

Jim took time out of his busy schedule to speak with Notably Texan about topics ranging from the origin of his stage name,  his fond memories of 1990's Deep Ellum, and the back stories for some of our favorite songs to play on Notably Texan.

Several examples of The Revered Horton Heat's music are also featured during this in-depth discussion.

For more about The Reverend Horton Heat, check out his website, Twitter, and Facebook. The Rev also has many videos  and live performances posted on his YouTube channel.

Reverend Horton Heat performs Saturday night, Sept 20th at Rally Round Greenville.

Notably Texan is heard weekdays from Noon-3pm on KETR.
