Road closures Thursday and Friday in Greenville

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – The City of Greenville Thursday and Friday will be blocking off roadways to resurface portions of several streets.

Streets to be resurfaced Thursday include Main Street from Airhart to Alpha; Bourland Street from King to Wesley; Henry Street from Wesley to Johnson; Jordan Street from Stonewall to Johnson; Crockett Street from Wesley to Stonewall; Division Street from Stonewall to Johnson; Hillcrest Avenue from Wesley to Stonewall.

Only one street is scheduled for resurfacing Friday, Colony Drive from Justin to Jack Finney Boulevard.

Crews will begin the resurfacing work at approximately 8 a.m. each morning and open the streets when the seal is cured and ready to accept traffic flow.

Traffic will not be permitted to cross until the seal is properly cured. All streets will be completely closed for up to four hours, depending on curing time of the seal coat.

City contractors will also be adjusting manholes, valves and clean-outs on various streets over the next several days.

The city asks that motorists please watch for workers and observe traffic warning signs. In the event of inclement weather, these repairs may be canceled and rescheduled for a later date.

Questions concerning street closures and alternate routes can be found at the city's website, www.ci.greenville.tx.us
