LAke Ray Hubbard, which spilled into the yards of 21 residents in Rockwall Thursday.

Almost two dozen homes in Rockwall flooded last night when Rockwall Lake overflowed. The flooding is the latest in a spate over overflows along spillways, roads, and streams around Northeast Texas this week

CBS news reported that residents voluntarily evacuated when water from the offshoot of Lake Ray Hubbard backed up to their doors Thursday afternoon.

Continuing rain and storms threaten more flooding across Northeast Texas this weekend. A flood watch is in effect throughout the region through Friday night, and rains are expected to keep falling until at least Saturday evening.

Sunday looks to be the first break in the weather. Sunny skies and highs in the 60s on tap.
