The Dan and Jalinna Jones Education Awards Ceremony, presented by the Hunt/Hopkins County African American Leadership Conference, is set to recognize area students, teachers, principals and superintendents on February 24th.
The conference rooms of the Sam Rayburn Student Center on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce will be host to the event, which seeks to award primary, secondary, and post-secondary students and educators on the following merits:
- Outstanding Academic Performance
- School Involvement
- Excellence in Education
- School Attendance
- Leadership in Education
Former president of the Dallas Independent School District Ron Price will be the keynote speaker.
The event is scheduled for 2:30pm on Sunday, February 24th, and is also sponsored by the Commerce Ministerial Alliance, as well as the A&M-Commerce chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
