Royse City – The Royse City City Manager will be retiring after seven years serving the city. 73 year old Connie Goodwin announced his retirement last week at the regular city council meeting for Royse City. His retirement will be effective September 30th, but Goodwin is set to stay on as a consultant with the city through the end of the year.
Goodwin said two good candidates are already identified for taking the city manager position. He is also heading up a search for an assistant city manager for Royse City.
Goodwin said he plans to take more time upon retirement for personal matter such as spending time with family, woodworking, and fishing.
