– According to a report by the Texas Comptroller's Office, the City of Greenville's sales tax revenue collected in August was significantly higher than year's total from the same month. The payment comes in at more than $537,000, an increase of nearly four percent from last August.
Royse City received a payment of over $117,000, equal to a more than five percent increase.
A payment of over $91,000 to the City of Commerce over the same time period represents a decrease of over four percent.
Sales tax collections for Bonham were down slightly, while Sulphur Springs and Paris experienced gains.
Several area cities, however, show an overall decrease in year-to-date sales tax allocations when compared to this time last year.
