3-year-old Sam Duckworth has been battling stage 2B neuroblastoma since February 2010.

Saturday's benefit in Klondike is to assist his family, who is dealing with mounting medical expenses. Jimmy and Sue Allen, Colette Newman and the ladies from the Church at Klondike have organized a meal, silent auction, bounce house and a cake walk. They helped conduct a bake sale last month.

With the generosity of others, the family has also started Sam’s Warriors. They are selling t-shirts, buttons and bracelets. You can learn more by emailing sams_warriors@yahoo.com.

“If cancer does anything for a family it brings about a sense of awareness that you don't always have. To appreciate each day and to not take any moment for granted,” said Sam's mother, Jessica, told The Cooper Review.

Sam is being treated primarily at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
