Scurry man pleads guilty to game room robbery

By Brad Kellar

Scurry – Guilty pleas have been entered in a game room robbery. James Russell Moore, of Scurry, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of robbery. Moore was sentence to five years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division. Moore had pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned on the indictment Monday. The robbery took place in December, 2006 at the Tropical Oasis game room on State Highway 34 South. A clerk inside the business is reported to have been approached by a man wearing dark clothes and something over his face waving a pistol and demanding money. A toy gun and knit mask found in Moore's vehicle were discovered to have been purchased earlier that day.
