Search warrant nets cocaine, marijuana

Commerce – Commerce Police arrested two people Saturday after executing search warrants in the 100 block of Sunrise Street.

At the residence officers seized 17.6 grams of cocaine, 7.73 ounces of marijuana, 1 prescription pill and tools commonly used in drug trafficking.

Taken into custody were 20-year-old Kendall Marquell Henry and 23-year-old Tonetta Lasha Askew.

Each was charged with a second degree felony for possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams. Henry and Askew are also facing a state felony for possession of Marijuana under 4 pounds but more than 4 ounces and a misdemeanor A for possession of a dangerous drug.

Both suspects were transferred to the Hunt County Jail where they have been arraigned on all charges.

Bond for Askew was set at a total of $16,000, while Henry was denied bond.
