Second execution performed in Greenville murder

By Scott Harvey

Huntsville – Texas has executed a second South Dakota parolee condemned for killing an Army officer during a robbery and beating in Greenville.

41-year-old Billy Galloway received a lethal injection Thursday night. His former cellmate, Kevin Varga, was put to death Wednesday.

North Carolina resident David Logie, was in Greenville in 1998 on business when both Varga and Galloway robbed and killed him. Logie's widow Diann said the executions may bring closure, but it would never replace the loss of her husband.

The only remaining Hunt County inmate currently on death row is Adam Kelly Ward, who's been convicted for the 2005 shooting death of Michael "Pee Wee" Walker. Ward does not currently have an execution date scheduled.
