Second suit filed against city, first suit awaits decision

L-3 Communications

GREENVILLE - Yet another lawsuit has been filed by L-3 against the City of Greenville, claiming Majors Field Municipal Airport is in violation of regulations dating back more than 60 years.

The Greenville Herald-Banner reports that the defense contractor says the violations concern the status of surplus government property. They’re asking the federal court to require the city to operate the airport “indefinitely” as a public place and to provide the company with an account of the city’s airport revenue and airport fund.

The suit comes as the status of another suit previously filed by L-3 is awaiting a ruling from a state appeals court.
