Second town hall meeting in Greenville tonight

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The second of two town hall meetings in Greenville is set for tonight.

The meeting is will take place at 6 p.m. in the Fletcher Warren Civic Center, 5501 Highway 69 South. It is being held in response to a survey issued by the city in April, which asked whether citizens would attend if the city hosted such a meeting. The survey also provided the opportunity for residents to select the topics they would like to have discussed.

The first meeting, held last week, addressed the city's vision statement, guiding values and goals, and the upcoming city budget. Among the major programs highlighted were the wastewater treatment plant upgrade, the Interstate 30 overpass and Highway 380 improvements, the establishment of a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, the Cobisa project and the possible future of the former Austin Elementary School building.
