By Brad Kellar

Hunt County – Securities fraud indictments have been handed down in connection with oil and gas sales in Hunt County.

The grand jury issued indictments Friday afternoon against Donald Joseph Dean, of Tyler; Michael Day Lamont, of Allen; and Carl Tinsley Ratner, address unknown. The three are alleged to have engaged in organized criminal activity and sold unregistered securities connected to a Wolfe City oil and gas company.

All three individuals received indictments for engaging in organized criminal activity, acting as an unregistered dealer and selling unregistered securities. Dean and Ratner were also indicted for securities fraud. The securities fraud indictments were connected to Mack Diamond Energy; a company based in Wolfe City which was involved in two recent lawsuits, both of which were later dismissed.
