GREENVILLE - At 3 p.m., Greenville emergency crews were working the scene of an overturned 18-wheeler along the eastbound service road of Interstate 30.

The driver of the truck did not appear to be injured according to Lori Philyaw, public information officer for the City of Greenville. No other vehicles were involved. It wasn’t immediately clear how the truck overturned, which happened at around 2:30 p.m.

The truck was carrying “several empty nitrogen canisters.”  Four police units, two fire department units, and a hazmat crew were responding as precaution.

“They don’t think there’s any kind of chemical problem. Not anything harmful but they’re just checking it out,” Philyaw said.

The service road is open to traffic. Traffic along the interstate is open but said to be moving slowly.
