Services for Robert Peek set for Tuesday

Commerce – Services are scheduled for Tuesday for longtime Commerce resident and entrepreneur Robert Peek, who died Thursday after sustaining a serious accident at his home a few days earlier.

Since the 1980's he's operated the Robert Peek Financial Network, and has served in a number of volunteer capacities including but not limited to treasurer of the Downtown Revitalization Project; past director of the Commerce Chamber of Commerce; a former City Commissioner and member of the Texas A&M University-Commerce Athletic Council.

He and his wife, Janet, were also members of several organizations within Commerce ISD, Texas A&M University-Commerce, The Northeast Texas Children's Museum and the First Baptist Church.

Peek attended high school in Commerce and earned a B.A. degree in sociology from East Texas State University.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Estes Peek; son, Dr. Chris Peek and wife Kim of Haslet; and mother, Marguerite Emerson Peek of Commerce.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with burial to take place at Rose Mound Cemetery.
